Happy 211 Week

Happy 211 week! Last week was 2/11, and we celebrate the amazing United Way 211 helpline which offers free, confidential service to help people meet their basic needs like affordable housing, healthcare, food assistance, etc.

On this special occasion I wanted to let you know how BYU employees' donations have helped more than 150,000 individuals and families in Utah. Of those who contact 211, over 58% earn $14,999 and below per year and over 53% of callers have children in their household. Your donations are impacting some of Utah's most vulnerable populations.

With your support we are able to help families like the single father who connected with Utah 211 after recently serving jail time. Despite working hard, he was not making enough to cover his rent or provide for his children. A 211 Specialist helped him navigate the food stamps application process and find other programs to assist with his with rent, utilities, and tax filing. Thanks to your donations, this family was able to have their basic needs met.

Thank you for your support of United Way of Utah County and 211 through your campaign donations and other partnerships. And of course if anyone you know is interested in using 211 for themselves or to help another, they can dial 2-1-1 or visit 211utah.org
